What to Send?

Hi Everyone!

Here is a "wish list" from the mom of 2 servicemen stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan:

"They could use things like baby wipes, Q-tips, disposable razors, magazines, word search & cross word puzzles, hard candies (no chocolate-it's 120 degrees over there), cereal and granola bars, peanut butter crackers, lots of 'on the go' kool-aid packets for their water bottles (any flavor), travel packages (that have toothpaste, toothbrush and other toiletries in it), sunflower seeds, and a little note. That's about all I can think of. Thanks so much, these guys & gals need to know how much we appreciate them."

I'm sure you can think of some other items they may need or want, so let me know what you come up with! Don't forget, we'll be collecting Girl Scout cookies again this winter, so be ready!

Troops2Troops

Hi Everyone! I'm setting up this new blog to let everyone know about my Troops2Troops project. This is a project to help Girl Scout Troops in the southern Alabama area find service men and women to send cookies and care packages to. If you have a Girl Scout Troop and would like to send a care package, email me at Troops2Troops@aol.com. If you know a service man or woman from our local area who is currently serving overseas, please email me for more information. Future posts will have instructions and tips for mailing packages, and lists of items to send. So far, troops in Service Unit 807 have sent over 400 boxes of cookies, and several other care packages. Help us keep it going!
